Let every man praise the bridge that carries him over

Let every man praise the bridge that carries him over – now on eBay

It’s funny what you find when you’re tidying up. Today I came across a file which had a load of stuff I thought we’d already sold in it. Now I’m going to remedy that so here’s the the ebay link

First up we have ‘Let every man praise the bridge that carries him over’ which is an old English proverb as far as I can tell. In this case the bridge in question is an unusual woman/bridge hybrid and has carried him from one side of Antartica to the other. Now whilst this bridge may not appear entirely practical it still lets you traverse from one side of a continent to the other, which is certainly something considering how much capital building projects of this size tend to cost. Although saying that it’s not exactly apparent how you are meant to disembark from the bridge when you reach her face. It would seem perhaps some kind of nose ladder would possibly be in order. Either that or i’ve mixed my metaphors entirely and was trying to get across the notion that ‘behind every great man is a great woman’. I’m not entirely sure myself…

It consists of some stencils, a bit of screen printing, some paint and some ink on an old National Geographic map of Antartica. She measures a wall friendly 62 cm x 48 cm and would look lovely once framed. It’s signed on the reverse.

We are all fools for love

So we’re keeping the ebay ball rolling with a new piece:

Here’s the ebay link

It’s been over a year in the making (mainly because we’re so lazy) but we can finally reveal our huge edition of 2 (well 3 if you count the landscape one that is currently being hand finished) of our piece which was originally a large scale piece done at UPfest in 2012. It’s a combination of screen printing, stencils, spraypaint and a little hand finishing. The picture was based on a photo of a friend and I’m glad to say she has seen the piece since it was done and given it her blessing. I think the message is clear enough that no matter how tough we think we are love can make a fool of us all. Amen to that.

I love it here

As i’m sure we all know by now the path of true love never does run smooth. And today’s piece is something of a homage to that somewhat disturbing truism. In fact, today’s piece is largely about a love that has run it’s course and is now somewhat moribund. This is evident in the blue letters within the piece. I’m sure you can work it out. And all this just in time for Valentine’s day! What a treat for the one you (used to) love as it’s now on ebay:

Girl O’Dreams

So with Valentine’s day on the way it’s time for us to shamelessly try to jump on board and peddle some of our high quality wares.

Here’s the ebay link

It’s been a while since i’ve been in the situation this chap finds himself in. He’s done all he can; got himself dressed up nice, got some flowers and found himself the right door to knock on. From here on in it’s no longer in his hands and the best he can do is put his best smile on and pretend he’s all confidence (which, he’s been informed, the ladies love). I can only wish him the best of luck…

He’s a compact A4 in size and is from a small edition of 5. Each has been completed using the magic of screen printing, paint pens, spraypaint and stencils. The print is signed on the reverse side and all are hand finished and unique.

Cross my heart

So with Valentine’s day on the way it’s time for us to shamelessly try to jump on board and peddle some of our high quality wares.

Here’s the ebay link.

‘Cross my heart and hope to die’ is an idiom that one would use to emphasise that something is true. This lady on the other hand is a tricky little customer and I have a hard time believing anything that comes out of her mouth. Even if she has crossed her heart. Maybe, just maybe, this time she is on the level…

Give me a London girl every time

Give me a London girl every time (front)

Give me a London girl every time (back)

As Chas n Dave sang in their 1983 song ‘London Girls’:

Give me a London girl every time,
I’ve gotta find one I’ve made up my mind

This particular specimen of London female appears to be from somewhere near Kennington and despite the fact she’s green, has grey hair and a red nose you can see she’s got music in her eyes. What more could a man want?

I came across this little beauty during a little tidy up. She was tucked down the side of a portfolio and was actually created a short while ago and we somehow managed to neglect her – until now! It’s on a section of a 1980’s South London bus timetable and was created using the magic of stencils and screen printing. It’s an eminently frameable 15 x 20 cm in size and is now on eBay. It’s even got our id-iom stamp of approval screen printed on the back so you can relax safe in the knowledge it’s an authentic id-iom product.

Censored femme

I’m not quite sure where the muse was taking me with this one. It’s a Japanese school girl with her eyes censored out. There’s probably a hidden message but i’m not willing to reveal it. Make your own mind up…

It is A2 in size and is made using the magic of acrylic and paint pen . Signed on reverse.

Can you guess what it is yet?

Can you guess what it is yet?

Can you guess what it is yet?

I think the easiest way to explain this one is that I was trying to put an earwom (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earworm) into graphic form. I’ve done it before but I reckon this one is a little complicated (but surely not that hard to work out?) Anway, can you guess what it is yet?

International Police State

International Police State

International Police State

Every once in a while I look at what’s happening to the world and wonder. Then it somehow percolates through my brain and I decide to do another picture. This one came about after reading about the Opium Wars of the 19th century whereby the British came to define term ‘gunboat diplomacy‘. Then a swift look at the news today reveals how little things have really changed in almost 200 years. It’s always about the biggest stick – as lovingly displayed by this armoured police sergeant.
