Little boy blue

Little boy blue

Little boy blue

It’s funny that because this picture is on a sheet of A4 paper you don’t really get an impression of size of the subject. The person this picture is based on is actually a giant at well over 70 metres tall. But that doesn’t come across well in the picture. Maybe I should have added some smaller things in by way of perspective but that’s never been my strong point and I fear I would have made it all just look a bit odd. Suffice it to say that he eats cows whole when he wants a burger and drinks beer by the bathtub full. The clue is actually in the title as he’s called ‘little’ boy blue in that particularly British way of giving someone a name that is somewhat opposite to their obvious attributes. Like calling a short man ‘lofty’ or a man mountain ‘tiny’. Either way I’m not entirely sure of what to say other than if you come across him it pays to be nice before he decides to use you in a sandwich…

Blown away

Hmmmm…. This chap looks uncannily like one half of id-iom. And it would appear he’s just been shot in the chest whilst walking down the street drinking some beer. Like, OMG dude! But don’t worry. He’s an actor. Nobody was injured in the making of this piece. It’s all done with explosive squibs and fake blood. It just looks eerily convincing.

This is, in fact, just an artists’ impression of a scene from the upcoming biopic ‘When we ruled the world’ about the tumultuous and sometimes fiery relationship between the two members of id-iom which is slated for international release in 2015.

All your base are belong to us!

Even the NSA didn’t see this one coming. With the world in turmoil the cats have been talking and they’ve decided it’s time to make their move. Their dark motives are obscured behind a cute and fluffy visage – but don’t be fooled. They are taking over in their tiny nuclear powered tanks and they aren’t taking no for an answer. I for one welcome our new feline overlords…

The horse stares…

The centaur lady in this piece looks a little unnerved as she rears up with her WWI era helmet on. The text reads ‘The horse stares at its captor, barely remembering the free kicks of youth’.

I’ve been trying to write this for a while and that’s currently the best i’ve got. Which is far below the usual lacklustre standard of my posts. Sometimes it’s easy to do the write ups that accompany our pieces and some days it’s like pulling teeth. Unfortunately today is proving to be one of the difficult days. Do you know what? I give up.

The early bird catches the worm

If you’re one of those people who set your alarm for an hour earlier than you need to get up so you can relentlessly keep hitting your snooze button then this one’s not for you. This is for those go-getters among us who spring out of bed upon waking with joy in their black hearts every morning. I’d like to think they are really something like the bird in question in this particular piece who seems nice enough on first glance but is, in fact, a pernicious magpie with a rather malicious glint in his eye. The slightly loopy looking worm doesn’t seem to realise what’s about to happen to him…

In fact thinking about it maybe I’ll get this on eBay and see what happens…

Two heads are better than one

Two heads are better than one

Two heads are better than one

id-iom is made up with two of us so we can attest to the adage of two heads are better than one but unlike this picture one of us isn’t a girl, well i say that but the other half can certainly act like a little school girl sometimes…

It’s A2 in size and is made using the magic of watercolor, spraypaint, stencils and paint pen. Signed on reverse.

Winehouse

Winehouse

The late Amy Winehouse has sadly gone down in history as one of the 27 club, this picture however was completed some time before her death. The stencil was originally apart of our celebrity head series which we incorporated with quotes from the celebrities themselves, you really can’t believe some of the stupid things that some of them have said…

It is A2 in size and is made using stencils, watercolour and glitter. Signed on reverse.

The Game of Love

The Game of Love

The Game of Love

I think at times we’ve all played the game of love, for some though it seems the easiest thing in the world for others not so much. It seems this guy is still playing, lets hope he finds who he’s looking for sometime soon.

Pretty misery

Pretty misery

Pretty misery

This picture started off as a little something to do on a rainy Sunday. With the rain lashing the window, water was all I could see from my lounge. So it was to the watercolour paints i went which usually stay hidden away due to the absolute lack of skill I possess at using them. Then to compound the issue I decided to try and recreate skin tone – even though the last time I tried this I ended up with something akin to a beige black hole.

Well, with that looming over me it took me a long while later until I came up with anything. Finally it became this picture of a topless woman staring at the floor. It was Sunday after all…
